چکیده

Fault-tolerant systems are such systems that can continue their operation, even in presence of faults. Redundancy as one of the main techniques in implementation of fault-tolerant control systems uses voting algorithms to choose the most appropriate value among multiple redundant and probably faulty results. Average (mean) voter is one of the commonest voting methods which is suitable for decision making in highlyavailable and long-missions applications in which the availability and speed of the system is critical. In this paper we introduce a new generation of average voter based on parallel algorithms which is called as parallel average voter. The analysis shows that this algorithm has a better time complexity (log n) in comparison with its sequential algorithm and is especially appropriate for applications where the size of input space is large. KeywordsFault-tolerant; Voting Algorithm; ParallelAlgorithm; Divide and Conquer.

An approach to fault detection and correction in design of systems using of Turbo ‎codes‎

We present an approach to design of fault tolerant computing systems. In this paper, a technique is employed that enable the combination of several codes, in order to obtain flexibility in the design of error correcting codes. Code combining techniques are very effective, which one of these codes are turbo codes. The Algorithm-based fault tolerance techniques that to detect errors rely on the c...

Voting Algorithms in Multiple Error Scenarios for Real-time Control Applications

Voting algorithms are used to arbitrate between the results of variants in fault-tolerant systems. Industrial sectors which employ such systems include process control, transportation (such as railway and avionics), nuclear power plants, and military applications. Typical voters used in fault tolerant systems are majority, plurality, median, and weighted average. These voters can produce either...

A Novel Fuzzy Membership Partitioning for Improved Voting in Fault Tolerant System

This paper presents a novel technique for improved voting by adaptively varying the membership boundaries of a fuzzy voter to achieve realistic consensus among inputs of redundant modules of a fault tolerant system. We demonstrate that suggested dynamic membership partitioning minimizes the number of occurrences of incorrect outputs of a voter as compared to the fixed membership partitioning vo...
